Gurugram Gurus End Losing Streak with 39-24 Win Over Faridabad Fighters
Gurugram Gurus finally broke their losing streak, defeating Faridabad Fighters 39-24 on February 4 at the Sports University of Haryana, Rai. The win ended a run of five straight defeats to open coach Jagpal Singh's debut Kabaddi Champions League campaign and marked the start of a stunning late-season turnaround.
Gurugram Gurus' raiding unit, built around marquee signing Neeraj Narwal, finally clicked into gear against a Faridabad Fighters side that had shown genuine defensive resistance throughout the season without translating it into wins. The 15-point margin was Gurugram's biggest of the season and gave coach Jagpal Singh's young squad real momentum heading into the final rounds.
For Faridabad Fighters, the defeat continued a winless league campaign under coach Balwan Singh Dahiya, with the defensive pairing of Jaideep Dahiya and Yogesh Dahiya unable to prevent a Gurugram side finally finding its attacking rhythm. It was a difficult continuation of what would ultimately be a winless season for Faridabad.
This win proved to be the turning point of Gurugram Gurus' season, with the team following it up just a day later with an even bigger statement win over league co-toppers Hisar Heroes.
