Hisar Heroes Edge Panipat Panthers 47-43 in Season 1's First Top-Table Clash

Hisar Heroes moved to 2-0 in Kabaddi Champions League Season 1 with a 47-43 win over Panipat Panthers on January 28 at the Sports University of Haryana, Rai, in a high-scoring contest between two sides that would go on to finish at the top of the league table.

Ashu Malik continued his strong start to the season, giving coach Jagdeep Singh's side the attacking edge in a match that produced 90 combined points, one of the highest-scoring fixtures of the opening week. Panipat Panthers, under coach Randeep Dalal, pushed hard throughout behind raiding contributions from Meetu Sharma and Narender Kandola, but couldn't quite close the four-point gap by full time.

The result gave Hisar Heroes an early lead in what became a season-long battle between the two sides for top spot on the Kabaddi Champions League table, with both teams eventually finishing the league stage with five and four wins respectively. Panipat Panthers responded well from this defeat, going on to close the league stage with a strong run of results that carried them into the semi-finals.

This early meeting between two of the league's strongest sides offered a preview of the quality that would define the top of the Kabaddi Champions League table throughout Season 1, with both teams going on to reach the knockout stages.
