Kabaddi Champions League (KCL) Season 2 Auction at JW Marriott Concludes Successfully

The Kabaddi Champions League (KCL) Season 2 auction concluded successfully on October 17, 2026, at JW Marriott, with ten franchises bidding to build their squads for the new season. Ayan Lochab emerged as the most expensive player at ₹17.4 lakh, and the day produced strong competition, big-name moves, and a clear signal of how fast the league is growing.

Ayan Lochab Tops the Board

Jhajjar Jaguars made the headline buy of the day, securing Ayan Lochab for ₹17.4 lakh. Lochab was one of the leading raiders of Season 1, scoring 87 raid points for Sonipat Stars, and was part of India’s gold-medal squad at the Asian Games 2026. After the auction, he said he was proud to be the highest-paid player and grateful to Jhajjar Jaguars for showing faith in his abilities.

Strong Demand for Proven Talent

Karnal Kings picked up Bharat Hooda for ₹16.6 lakh, the second-highest buy of the day, while Kurukshetra Knights signed Naveen Goyat for ₹15.2 lakh. Both of the league’s new franchises appeared in the top three, which shows how ambitiously they approached their first auction. Further down the list, Sunil Malik, India’s captain at the Asian Games, joined Faridabad Fighters for ₹10 lakh, with Yogesh Dahiya also going to the Fighters for ₹9.2 lakh. Rohtak Royals secured Neeraj Narwal for ₹8.6 lakh, while Sonipat Stars added Mohit Goyat for ₹8.4 lakh and Jaideep Dahiya for ₹8.2 lakh to complete the top ten.

Squads Take Shape

The top buys showed franchises focusing on quality raiders and defenders across different playing positions. Several established players also changed teams, with Sunil Malik moving from Karnal Kings to Faridabad, Jaideep Dahiya joining Sonipat after playing for Faridabad, and Neeraj Narwal moving from Gurugram Gurus to Rohtak. These moves, combined with the players retained earlier by Bhiwani Bulls, Panipat Panthers, Hisar Heroes, and others, mean that every franchise now has a very different look from Season 1.

A Pool Built on Strong Trials

The auction followed a trial process that drew considerable interest from aspiring players across Haryana, with Sonipat recording 6,400 registrations and 650 players taking part in the Rohtak trials. More than 300 players were expected to go under the hammer, with each franchise bidding within the Season 2 purse of ₹5 crore, up from ₹4 crore in Season 1.

Fans followed the auction live on the Kabaddi Champions League YouTube channel, Waves OTT, and ZEE5, with host Vishwas Chauhan, auctioneer Kunal Saluja, and presenter Khushi Gupta guiding the broadcast. The reach of the coverage reflected the interest KCL has built since its debut season.
