Kabaddi Champions League (KCL) Season 2 Auction Purse Set at ₹5 Crore

The Kabaddi Champions League (KCL) has announced that the auction purse for Season 2 will be ₹5 crore, a rise of ₹1 crore from the ₹4 crore purse each franchise had in the inaugural season. The increase is a clear sign of the league’s growth and gives teams more power to build strong squads when the auction takes place on October 17, 2026.

A Bigger Purse for a Bigger League

In Season 1, each of the eight franchises worked with a ₹4 crore purse to pick from the 128 players selected at the auction. For Season 2, that figure rises by 25 percent to ₹5 crore, and the league has expanded to ten franchises. If the new purse applies to every team, that adds up to ₹50 crore of spending power across the auction room. The increase reflects the confidence franchises and the league have in KCL’s future, and it raises the stakes for every bid.

Why the Increase Matters

The Season 1 auction showed how competitive bidding could get, with Devank Dalal becoming the most expensive buy and going on to earn the Top Raider award before winning Asian Games gold with India’s squad. With a larger purse, franchises will have more room to chase marquee players and still build depth across raiding, defence, and all-round roles. Franchises that have already retained key players will have to balance those commitments with their targets in the auction, which adds an extra layer of strategy.

Ten Franchises, Bigger Ambitions

The Season 2 auction will feature all ten teams: Bhiwani Bulls, Rohtak Royals, Karnal Kings, Gurugram Gurus, Sonipat Stars, Panipat Panthers, Faridabad Fighters, Hisar Heroes, Kurukshetra Knights, and Jhajjar Jaguars. For the two new franchises, the ₹5 crore purse is a chance to build an entire squad from scratch, while the established sides will look to add to their cores and challenge reigning champions Rohtak Royals.

Auction Date and Live Streaming

The auction takes place on October 17, 2026, from 10:30 AM onwards. Fans can watch it live on the Kabaddi Champions League YouTube channel, Waves OTT, and ZEE5.
