Top 5 Most Expensive Picks of the Kabaddi Champions League (KCL) Season 2 Auction

The Kabaddi Champions League (KCL) Season 2 auction on October 17, 2026, produced some of the biggest bids in the league’s short history, with ten franchises competing for a pool of more than 300 players within a ₹5 crore purse. Five players stood above the rest, and between them they show where franchises are putting their money for the new season.

1. Ayan Lochab: ₹17.4 Lakh to Jhajjar Jaguars

Ayan Lochab was the most expensive player of the auction, and Jhajjar Jaguars made him their headline signing. He was one of the best raiders of Season 1, scoring 87 raid points in seven matches for Sonipat Stars at a raid strike rate of 61.3 percent, with five Super 10 performances. He then won gold with India’s squad at the Asian Games 2026. After the auction, he said he was proud to be the highest-paid player and grateful to the Jaguars for showing faith in him. For a brand-new franchise, a player of his profile gives the team an instant leader.

2. Bharat Hooda: ₹16.6 Lakh to Karnal Kings

Karnal Kings paid ₹16.6 lakh for Bharat Hooda, the second-highest price of the day. The Kings have already retained Akshit Dhull, Harsh Vedpal, and Rohit Nandal, and Hooda adds a marquee name to a squad that will be led by head coach Ravinder Pahal. It was a clear statement from a franchise that wants to move up the standings in Season 2.

3. Naveen Goyat: ₹15.2 Lakh to Kurukshetra Knights

Kurukshetra Knights, one of the two new franchises, signed Naveen Goyat for ₹15.2 lakh, the third-highest buy. With Jhajjar Jaguars taking the top spot, both new franchises landed a top-three player, which shows how ambitiously they approached their first auction. Goyat now joins a squad that will be guided by head coach Anup Kumar as the Knights build their identity from scratch.

4. Rakesh Singroha: ₹11 Lakh to Faridabad Fighters

Faridabad Fighters paid ₹11 lakh for Rakesh Singroha, the fourth-highest price of the day. It was one of three high-value buys for the Fighters, who also signed Sunil Malik, India’s captain at the Asian Games, for ₹10 lakh and Yogesh Dahiya for ₹9.2 lakh. Together, those three signings show a franchise that came to the auction with clear intent under new head coach Om Parkash Narwal.

5. Sumit Sangwan: ₹10.2 Lakh to Sonipat Stars

Sonipat Stars signed Sumit Sangwan for ₹10.2 lakh, completing the top five. After the auction, he described joining the Stars as an exciting opportunity. The franchise also added Mohit Goyat for ₹8.4 lakh and Jaideep Dahiya for ₹8.2 lakh, both of which made the top ten, so the Stars were among the most active spenders in the room. They will work under head coach Surender Nada.

What the Top Five Tell Us

The league’s press release said the biggest buys reflected a focus on quality raiders and defenders across different playing positions, and the top five support that. The gap between the top three and the rest was clear, with the leading prices well above the ₹11 lakh paid for the fourth pick. Franchises also showed they were willing to back established names with big bids, while still leaving room to fill their squads within the ₹5 crore purse.
